Where: Tankwa Karoo National Park – Perdekloof camp site
Cost: R240 p/n, R30 p/p conservation fee – SADC
Facilities: Individual kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Very clean. Lovely sites. No electricity.

Where: Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park – Twee Rivieren camp site (booking essential)
Cost: R240 p/n, R62 p/p conservation fee – SADC
Facilities: Sandy camp sites. Ablutions old and need repair but clean and serviced. Electricity.


Where: Kalahari Farmstall & Accommodation (camp site). S 25 40.408 E19 53.713
Cost: N$200 p/n
Facilities: Sandy camp sites. Electricity. Very nice place.

Where: Lapa Lange Game Lodge (camp site), Namibia. 35Km south of Mariental.
Cost: N$100 p/vehicle/n, N$95 p/p/n
Facilities: Grassed camp sites, Electricity, Beautiful place. WiFi available at the camp site. Swimming pool. One of the top two campsites so far.

Where: Sesriem Camp site, Naukluft National Park, Sesriem
Cost: N$140 p/p/n, N$130 p/n conservation fee – SADC
Facilities: Sandy camp sites, Electricity. We got an overflow site which had nothing and paid the same price. Swimming pool.

Where: Tiger Vlei, Swakopmund.
Cost: N$100 p/p/n – Out of season rates
Facilities: Individual sandy sites next to each other, Electricity. WiFi available near the office. In the process of building bathrooms for each site. Ablutions – one old shower and toilet block and one new shower block.

Facilities: Sandy sites, Electricity, Wifi in the lodge, old ablutions with cold water. Swimming pool.

Facilities: Grass sites, Electricity. Swimming pool. One site with private bathroom and wash area. N$80 p/p/n for other camp sites. Lodge is on main road so rather noisy at night.

Facilities: Grass sites, Electricity, old ablutions with dodgy showers. Swimming pool available at lodge. Campers can use all the facilities.

Facilities: Sandy sites, Wifi for email, Lovely setting. Clean ablutions, donkey driven.

Facilities: Stunning rock cottage, fully equipped.

Facilities: Eco ablutions. No electricity. Lovely setting on edge of cliff.

Cost: USD50 p/n paid for a single which included 1 breakfast.
Facilities: Basic room with en-suite. Hot water showers.

Cost: 500birr p/n incl. breakfast
Facilities: Dump. Avoid.

Where: Keneyu Hill Resort Hotel, Adama Nazereth
Cost: 443birr p/n incl. Breakfast. Got food poisoning twice.
Facilities: Nice en-suite room


Where: Savage Wilderness camp, Sagana
Cost: KSH 1000 p/p/n
Facilities: Confined to car park with RRT, bad ablutions, no hot water. Ground tent camping facilities excellent but have to carry your gear to site.

    We have been following you for the lagest part of your trip. Great journey you are making!

    We are on our way on more or less the reverse trip, from the Netherlands to Cape Town. We traveled via Turkey, Iran, Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda. We are in Rwanda now and plan to travel via Burundi into Tanzania. If our roads cross it might be nice to meet at some point.
